Season 2 BD Omake Vol.4: Classmate Introduction (cont’d)

This month’s BD omake was made “extra special” by the fact that the original contained a genuine typo, which became a matter of some discussion on 2ch: ??? (to happen) was used in place of ?? (to be angry). The reading for both is “okoru”, so I am guessing someone was typing in hiragana and didn’t notice (couldn’t tell?) that auto-suggested kanji was wrong. It’s pretty surprising their proofreader didn’t catch it though. So yeah, even KyoAni can make typos, but I wouldn’t count on them releasing a v2 😉
Speaking of typos. This may well be a very old news, but I took a look at Yen Press’ web site the other day and here’s what I saw in their synopsis of volume 2: “…Despite their inexperience, the girls’ passionate performance at the entrance ceremony impresses first-year Azuka, a budding guitar player who can’t wait to join…”.
I do hope this is a typo and they didn’t just start changing girls’ names (or maybe we’re getting an Evangelion crossover?).
Volume 1 (Complete)
This is the complete volume 1, which includes previously released chapters 0-13 (with some minor revisions for consistency), newly translated omake pages, afterword by Kakifly-sensei, and covers.
This concludes my re-translation work. I won’t comment (much) on the previous attempts to translate this volume by the two other groups, let me just say that their versions made for pretty amusing reading (and it wasn’t because of the jokes in the manga). So I definitely have no regrets about spending time on this re-translation.
Meanwhile, I finally got ahold of the latest BD omake raws today, so I’m working on that next and after that I will start on complete volume 4.
Volume 4 Chapter 0 (volume-only special)

So yeah, I’ve got volume 4 raws, earlier than expected. Better quality than expected too. Complete volume 1 will be released shortly (it’s almost done), then I will release BD #4 omake (raws should show up on PD tomorrow or so), and then I’ll start working on complete volume 4. After it’s done, I’ll do the anthology and any other non-canon stuff.

Well, this was the last chapter of volume 1. All that’s left now are the covers and a few omake pages to make it a complete volume. That’s what I’m releasing next.
Meanwhile, the first issue of Kirara without K-ON! comes out in Japan this Saturday. I’ve seen the list of participating mangaka, Kakifly-sensei is not in it. No updates on his personal website either…
